The Mahasiddhi Retreat Center, under the spiritual guidance and direction of the Venerable Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and The Dzogchen Ponlop, Rinpoche, is a project to build a retreat center in the Northwest. The first phase of Nalandabodhi's planning was the establishment Nalanda West, a city center in Seattle, to provide an opportunity for study and practice in an easily accessible, centralized urban location. The second phase is to establish a retreat center in a rural setting to provide an opportunity for more extended practice in a secluded environment. Both centers are being established to fulfill the aspiration of vast compassion for all beings that embodies the very heart of the great vehicles of the Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhist traditions. "Nalanda West" refers to the great Buddhist university of the first millenium. "Mahasiddhi" refers to the "supreme accomplishment" of enlightenment that brings this aspiration to fruition.
Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche has generously assisted the development of the Mahasiddhi Retreat Center with his extraordinary vision and practical advice. The Dzogchen Ponlop, Rinpoche has worked closely with Khenpo Rinpoche to design and implement a complete, graduated curriculum of study and practice capable of suiting the needs and psychological tendencies of individual practitioners.
The Mahasiddhi Retreat Center is a project of Nalandabodhi US, Seattle, Washington;
and Nalandabodhi Foundation, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
