Goals

Financial Plans and Immediate Goals
As the Whidbey and similar areas near Seattle are so desirable, conveniently located, limited in size and within the zone of lesser rainfall, prices for better properties are quite high. They are significantly higher than the area of our initial search, which encompassed vast tracts of ranch and farmland. The estimate for an appropriate property in this area is between one and four million dollars. The property we are currently considering carries an estimated price of 1.2 million dollars. Additionally, construction costs of our planned facilities are initially estimated at five hundred thousand dollars.

Remodeling and construction are planned to begin immediately upon acquisition to prepare the property as a functioning retreat center. The first structures built will be the meditation hall and the teacher's residence, Following this, we will concentrate on the student living quarters. These activities will take place with a combination of volunteer and paid labor. Significant commitments of experienced professional services, such as architectural design, construction and landscape planning have already been volunteered.

Nalandabodhi, students, and friends of Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and The Dzogchen Ponlop, Rinpoche deeply appreciate your consideration and any contribution you are able to make to this project.
